Hi, my name is Una, a Brisbane based Accredited Mental Health Social Worker in private practice. I provide trauma-informed counselling with Medicare rebates, professional clinical supervision and University sessional academic services. I am an IFS (Level 1) trained therapist and a senior mental health practitioner with 29 years of professional experience.

I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. At Una Window Counselling and Consulting you can expect a reliable, warm and personalised experience.  This private practice offers specialised counselling services to adults.  I also provide professional supervision services to social workers, health providers and social work students. Sessions can be in person at my office or via phone or video.

My aim in my work with you is to offer a non-judgemental, secure and comfortable setting where your unique experience will be valued. I continue to engage in on-going supervision and professional development and I am a member of the Trauma Informed Practitioner group.

Here's a little more about my professional background - Since returning to Brisbane in 2001, I went on to work in senior clinical social work roles and specialise in community mental health service provision to adults with complex mental health needs, including Bi Polar Affective Disorder, Trauma, Schizophrenia, Post Natal Depression and Psychosis and those who experience self-harm and suicidal urges.  I continue to provide trauma-informed therapeutic approaches in my private practice. Prior to that, after obtaining my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Queensland in 1994, I went on to explore social work practice opportunities in different health settings in Brisbane, around Australia and the world.  These include psychiatric in-patient treatment, mental health crisis response in Canberra, paediatrics in Alice Springs and medical hospital social work in London.
