Bachelor of Social Work
Accredited Mental Health Social Worker
Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers
Hi, my name is Una. I am a Brisbane based Social Worker and mental health practitioner with 25 years of experience. I am a social worker in private practice and provide counselling with Medicare rebates, professional clinical supervision and university guest lecturing. I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers. I am a Registered NDIS service provider for therapeutic counselling.
After obtaining my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Queensland in 1994, I went on to explore social work practice opportunities in different health settings in Brisbane, around Australia and the world. These include psychiatric in-patient treatment, mental health crisis response in Canberra, paediatrics in Alice Springs and medical hospital social work in London. Since returning to Brisbane in 2001, I went on to specialise in public community mental health service provision to adults with serious and complex mental health needs, including Bi Polar Affective Disorder, Trauma, Schizophrenia, Post Natal Depression and Psychosis and those who experience self-harm and suicidal urges. In 2019 I opened my own private practice business and continue to support adults in my therapeutic counselling role.
I am the sole practitioner of Una Window Counselling and Consulting and offer a reliable and personalised experience. This private practice offers specialised counselling services and professional supervision to social workers.
